The Caterpillar 3306 engine was introduced in the early 1970s and produced for approximately 30 years. It was replaced by the C7 and C9 series engines beginning in 2004 due to Tier III and Tier IV emissions standards. Caterpillar 3306 generator sets are available in natural gas-powered G and diesel-powered Direct Injected Turbocharged Aftercooled (DITA) models.
Cat Natural Gas G3306
The G3306 gen sets are rated to supply prime power for locations off the grid such as oil, gas, and mining operations. These nonportable generators are gas powered which reduces fuel costs as well as eliminating the need for diesel to be delivered to remote areas. In addition, they are designed to operate in harsh conditions to reduce downtime and maintenance.
