Caterpillar Engine Applications
Electric Power Generation
Caterpillar's commercial and industrial power generators include diesel, gas, and Olympian systems, which can be used in varying regulatory situations:
- Diesel: At the low end, there's the diesel C1.1 (50 Hz) with a minimum power rating of 6.8 kVA up to the CM32C T-Type with a power rating of 5,880-7,840 kVA.
- Gas: For smaller power requirements, there's the single-phase DG50-2 (60 Hz) with a power rating of 50 eKW (50 kVA). When you have significantly greater power needs, the CG260-12 has a maximum continuous power rating of 3,000 eKW and maximum electrical efficiency of 43.9%.
- Olympian: Running on natural gas, power output goes from the G175LG6's 158 kW (197kVA) at 60 Hz to the G3000LG6's 270 kW (338 kVA) at 60 Hz.
