John Deere manufactures a wide range of generators, which reliably produce either prime or standby power in extreme environments and conditions.
Prime power generators are designed to run indefinitely when the power grid is unavailable as with many oil and gas operations.
When power from either the grid or a primary power generator fails, standby power generators supply power – up to 200 hours a year – until the main power source is back on line.

John Deere Generator Configurations
John Deere generators can be set up in more than 200 configurations ranging from 42-755 hp (31-563 kW). Plus, generators can be configured to comply with EU emissions standards such as CCNR, TA-Luft, and directive 97/68/EC as well as U.S. EPA Tier 3 and Tier 4 emissions standards.
Morever, non-emissions certified generators are available globally for use in less-regulated countries.
John Deere generators are available with different setup options:
- Right- or left-side service points
- Factory-installed cooling systems
- Fans with varying speeds and height settings
- 12- or 24-volt electrical systems
John Deere's proprietary technology utilizing 4-valve cylinder heads and dual turbochargers produces maximum power density. This is especially useful when minimal space is available, and it also decreases equipment weight as well as fuel costs.
In addition to using diesel fuel, some John Deere generators can use jet fuel while employing the same hardware and software when operating at either 1,500 rpm (50 Hz) or 1,800 rpm (60 Hz).
The John Deere Brand
Easily recognizable by its "leaping deer" logo and slogan "Nothing runs like a Deere," John Deere has been a staple of American agriculture for over 150 years. Its green and yellow equipment – tractors, combines, harvesters, balers, and planters – is ever present in fields and farms across the U.S.
It takes more than a catchy logo and slogan, however, to become a Fortune 500 company. John Deere has achieved this by producing high-quality equipment, diversifying its product lines, and serving multiple industries.
As its mission statement says, John Deere plans to continue its record of success by running smart, running fast, and running lean.
The company traces its origins back to 1837 when its namesake founder John Deere was a blacksmith in Grand Detour, Illinois. Up to that point, farmers had used iron or wooden plows which had to be frequently cleaned to remove the Midwestern soil stuck to them.
To solve this problem, Deere developed a smooth-sided steel plow. Additionally, he manufactured plows before they were ordered, a new concept at the time, which helped increase sales due to quicker delivery times.
